MUNICIPAL ELECTION WILL BE HELD MONDAY OCTOBER 26th, 2026

Nomination Period Opens: May 1, 2026

Nomination Deadline: August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

Certification of Candidates: August 24, 2026

Advance Vote: October 17, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Voting Day: October 26, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Who Can Vote

You are eligible to vote in the Township of Casey municipal election if you are:

A Canadian citizen;
At least 18 years old;
A resident of Casey Township, or the owner or tenant of land in Casey Township (or the spouse of such person); and
Not prohibited from voting under any law

Voters’ List

The voters’ list for the 2026 municipal election is based on the Preliminary List of Electors provided by Elections Ontario.

Electors are encouraged to confirm or update their information using Register to Vote Ontario prior to August 2026.

Beginning August 12, 2026, electors will be directed to the Municipality for assistance with:

confirming voter information
updating voter information
adding their name to the voters’ list

The voters’ list is finalized by the Clerk and becomes the official Voters’ List on or before September 1, 2026.

Applications to add, remove, or update information on the Voters’ List may be made from September 1, 2026 up to the close of voting on October 26, 2026.

Voting Method

Voting will take place using traditional paper ballots.

Electors must attend the designated voting location and cast their ballot in person.

If you are unable to vote on October 17^th or October 26^th , you may appoint another eligible elector as your voting proxy.

PRIOR TO FILLING OUT PROXY FORMS

Please ensure YOU are on the voters list.
Ask the person you want to appoint to check that THEY are also on the voters list.

PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION CAREFULLY

The person you appoint (the voting proxy), must be someone who is permitted to vote in the municipality;
You cannot appoint more than one voting proxy to vote on your behalf;
A person may act as a voting proxy for only one person who is not a family member;
One person may act as a voting proxy for any/all of their family members. Family member means spouse, sibling, parent, child, grandparent, or grandchild.

TO APPOINT A VOTING PROXY FOLLOW THESE STEPS

The appointer must fill out two copies of the Appointment for Voting Proxy Form (Form 3) and give BOTH copies to the person that you are appointing as your proxy. Both copies must have your original signature on them. You cannot sign one form and then photocopy it. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ FORM 3 IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE COMPLETING IT.
You must know who you want to appoint as your proxy when you fill out and sign the form. The person you want to appoint must be eligible to vote in the election, and should be someone you trust to mark the ballot in the way you have instructed them to.
You can appoint a proxy after 4 p.m. on August 24^th, 2026. The date nominations must be certified by.
Proxy forms MUST BE CERTIFIED by the Clerk prior to voting. The Clerk or designate will be available to certify proxy applications between September 1^st and October 26^th, by appointment only at the joint municipal office located on Hanbury Rd during regular business hours. PLEASE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO ENSURE STAFF AVAILABILITY. The appointed proxy will be required to show proof of ID before the Clerk can certify Form 3.

Filing a Nomination

Nominations must be filed with the Clerk:

In person or by an authorized agent
At the Municipal Office (903303 Hanbury Rd, New Liskeard) during regular office hours
Between May 1, 2026 and August 21, 2026 (2:00 p.m. deadline)
